2024 $50K Your Way Raffle

TERMS & CONDITIONS

All entrants understand and agree to the terms and conditions of the United Way of the Golden Triangle Region (UWGTR) 2024 $50K Your Way raffle for the benefit of the United Way of the Golden Triangle set forth herein:

1. An entry represents a chance to win the opportunity to accept an offer of the prize as per the terms and conditions set forth herein and in the Winner Notification Agreement. Online sales officially begin at 12:01 a.m. Aug 1, 2024. Important Dates:

Early Bird BOGO Sale Deadline: Aug 1, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. CST online

Grand Prize Drawings: Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. CST

Grand Prize Drawings Location: United Way of the Golden Triangle Region Kick-off in Columbus, MS

2. Participants can become eligible for the contest by purchasing a raffle ticket for $100.00 online at www.liveunitedms.org or in person at each of the following locations:

United Way Office - 223 22nd St No, Columbus, Mississippi

Conner's Sweets - 3123 Jefferson Street, Macon Mississippi

3. United Way of the Golden Triangle Region UWGTR) reserves the right to change any of the rules and/or the terms for this contest. Odds of winning are based on the number of tickets purchased. A maximum of 3000 tickets will be available for sale.

4. The Purchase of a Raffle entry constitutes full agreement by the purchaser to all terms and conditions set forth herein and in the Winner Notification Agreement.

5. No one will be eligible to win who procures an entry without valid payment of the purchase price either through a check returned for "Insufficient funds", "closed account" or through charge to a debit or credit card that is "Declined", "Invalid", or "Stolen".

6. There is no limit to the number of tickets an individual (18 or older) may purchase.

7. Entries may not be issued in the name of company or business, except for non-profits, social organizations and churches.

8. If more than one name is listed on the entry, the first name listed shall be considered the "entrant", unless the entry is in Mr. & Mrs. formal for a married couple. United Way of the Golden Triangle Region UWGTR) does not have obligation for delivery of any prize to any person other than the entrant (an individual's name on an entry). The entrant is responsible for coordinating delivery efforts with groups that purchase an entry.

9. United Way of the Golden Triangle Region UWGTR) is not responsible for entries lost in the mail or otherwise not received by it.

10. Federal and state laws restrict the sale of tickets to only those state or local residents who specifically meet the requirements as set forth in the applicable statutes and regulations in the terms and conditions as set forth by these Officials Rules.

11. After the raffle winner(s) are selected on Thursday, August 29, 2024, the United Way of the Golden Triangle Region (UWGTR) will forward the Winner(s) a Winner Notification Agreement, Form 5754, and Form W-9, to be sent via certified, return receipt U.S. Mail. The Winner(s) will have fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of receipt of the Winner Notification Agreement, Form 5754, and Form W-9 pursuant to the terms and conditions stated therein. Upon receipt of the Winner Notification Agreement, Form 5754, and Form W-9, the cash prize (less applicable taxes) will be tendered to the winner(s) within thirty (30) Calendar Days from the date of receipt of aforementioned documents at the United Way of the Golden Triangle Region (UWGTR) office.  If the executed documents are not received by United Way of the Golden Triangle Region (UWGTR) within said period, the prize will be automatically forfeited by the drawing winners and all proceeds will be retained by UWGTR.

12. Winner(s) shall have no rights in prize until the prize is fully and unconditionally accepted by winner(s) by the timely execution and return of the WNA and until complete delivery of the prize is made to winner. All prizes remain the sole property of United Way of the Golden Triangle Region (UWGTR) until unconditionally accepted "as is, where is" by winner(s).

13. The Winner(s) of the United Way of the Golden Triangle Region (UWGTR) $50K Your Way raffle is subject to all applicable federal, state and local taxes payable due to the winner's acceptance of the cash prize. All such applicable taxes will be deducted from the cash prize prior to disbursement of the prize amount to the winner(s).

14. United Way of the Golden Triangle Region (UWGTR) reserves the right to use the names, pictures, video images and relevant quotes of winner(s).

15. The $100 entry price, payable to United Way of the Golden Triangle Region (UWGTR) is NOT deductible for federal income taxes purposes.

16. Tickets, receipts, and the winners' rights are not transferable. Winners need not be present to win.

17. By law - winners of items costing $600 or more will receive tax form 1099. The Winner(s) need not to be Present at the drawing to be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, during the United Way of the Golden Triangle Region (UWGTR)

18. All sales of the raffle tickets are final and there will be NO refunds.

19. Proper Government issued photo identification must be presented to claim the prize.

20. Void where prohibited by Law.

21. Employees, volunteer board members, and their cohabitating family members of the United Way of the Golden Triangle Region (UWGTR) are ineligible to participate. 

22. Limitation on Liability. By purchase of a raffle ticket, each entrant forever discharges and releases Beneficiary, Sponsor (s), its/their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability, claims, causes of action, suits, and demands of any kind arising from or in connection with the contest, including, without limitation, responsibility for property damage, loss of life, or personal injury resulting from or in connection with participating in the raffle or from or in connection with use or receipt of the Prize(s), however caused.

23. Violation of any of these rules or attempts to win any contest by fraud, deception or cheating shall be ground for of United Way of the Golden Triangle Region (UWGTR) to disqualify that individual from participating in all current and future contest and events at the sole discretion of United Way of the Golden Triangle Region (UWGTR) as well as forfeiture of any prize or prizes won by fraudulent means.

Rules for Selling the 10 Tickets

 

Eligibility:
Eligible Organizations: Only 501(c)(3) non-profits, civic groups, booster clubs, or churches are eligible to have their name entered into the raffle.

For-Profit Exclusion: For-profit businesses are not eligible for this drawing.

Age Requirement: Individuals must be 18 years or older to win any prize. However, people of any age can sell raffle tickets on behalf of an organization.

Ticket Sales:
Sales Requirement: An organization's name will be entered into the drawing only if they or someone on their behalf sells 10 raffle tickets at $100 each for a total of $1000.00.

Credit for Sales: When purchasing tickets, buyers must write the organization's name on the ticket to ensure the organization gets credit.

Online Purchases: Tickets can be purchased online through www.50kyourway.net and the buyer must select or add your name to the tickets to get credit.

Drawings and Prizes:
Non-Profit Drawing: Eligible organizations that meet the ticket sales requirement will be entered into a drawing for the $10,000 prize.

Individual Drawings: There will be four separate drawings for individuals that purchase tickets, each with a $10,000 prize, totaling $40,000 in individual prizes.

Total Prizes: The total amount given away will be $50,000, with $10,000 for the non-profit drawing and $40,000 across the individual drawings.

No Presence Requirement: Winners do not need to be present at the drawing to win.  Attendance is encouraged!

Important Dates:
BOGO Bash: Buy One Get One opportunity Aug 1, 2024 ONLY (remember you must sell 10 tickets to add an organization name for a total of $1000.00)

Sales Period: Ticket sales must be completed by August 29, 2024.

Drawing Date: The drawing will take place on August 29, 2024.

Entry Process:
Verification: Sales will be verified before the drawing to ensure eligibility.

Additional Information:
No Entry Limit: There is no limit to the number of entries an organization or individual can earn, provided they meet the ticket sales requirement each time.

Notification: Winners will be notified via phone, text, email, by certified mail and announced on all social media platforms on August 29, 2024.

Disqualification: Any attempt to falsify sales or entry information will result in disqualification.
