Lynn Brown is a nonprofit leader with more than seven years of experience advancing civic engagement, strengthening nonprofit organizations, and building strategic partnerships across the public, private, and philanthropic sectors. Her work has centered on helping mission-driven organizations expand their impact through institutional fundraising, organizational capacity building, coalition engagement, and community collaboration.
Lynn currently serves as Development Director for Alabama Forward, where she leads institutional fundraising efforts supporting democracy and civic engagement initiatives. In addition to securing foundation and institutional support, she advises member organizations on fundraising strategy, identifies grant opportunities, provides grant writing technical assistance, and delivers trainings that strengthen nonprofit capacity across Alabama.
Throughout her career, Lynn has held leadership roles with the Boys & Girls Club of the Golden Triangle, the Columbus Arts Council, Greater DC Cares, and The Montgomery Institute, where she developed cross-sector partnerships, led strategic initiatives, and worked alongside community organizations, local leaders, educators, businesses, and funders to address community needs.
Lynn holds a Master of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University, a Master of Public Policy and Administration from Mississippi State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Mississippi State University. She is passionate about building stronger communities through collaboration, leadership development, and expanding equitable access to resources.
Outside of her professional work, Lynn enjoys exploring the world through travel and writing. She believes that experiencing different cultures and perspectives fosters empathy, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of the communities we serve—values that continue to shape both her personal life and professional leadership.
